Canon eos 5D mark II or III or 6D ?

Canon EOS 5d mark III - I was quite happy with 5d mark II, and did not really need to change over to mark III. Selling an old camera does not always get you a good price. However, one of my own students, now a well established photographer convinced me that its a very good camera. This was before i started Click for Camera, and I had an opportunity to buy it from the USA. Well, when I actually had it in my hands I could make out the difference in its focusing speed and the overall IQ. If you need a camera to be used just about in the studio, in controlled environment and you already own mark II, you may not really need to go for mark III but Yes, besides the fact that it has almost similar pixels, the focusing speed is very fast and accurate. The image quality at very high ISO is remarkably great. I have always preferred to have a good camera for personal use. When you shoot commercially, you shoot for others but when you do it for yourself, never settle for anything less than the best. I have always highly recommended Canon eos 5d Mark III to my students. I very strongly believe, that if you can afford it, you don't have to be a professional to own one. Its much easier to use compared to the entry level cameras. As a pro, when you go around looking for work, your perspective clients may certainly ask about the equipment you use.

Mark III certainly has a very good reputation in the market and for good and valid reasons.

Canon EOS 6d If you do not have the budget to go for my favourite, 5D mark III, this is the choice for you. Its quite similar to more expensive 5d Mark III with some structural differences. You may compare the two cameras. If the faster focusing and the high ISO capabilities of 5d mark III are not really needed, you can safely go for this camera and save on almost 1 lac rupees. Also, it will be faster to recover your investments if you are just starting off as a professional.
